100g de lipides => 900kcal
200g de prots => 800kcal
Ou autrement ?
I mentioned a few weeks back that this is coming out and it did on Tuesday. I read about 50 pages worth to get the gist and that was about it. Didn't need to read about Paleo folks and crap like that.
Has some good pre/during/post nutrition info that seems to be up to date for the most part (higher GI immediate pre-WO), lower further away. Recs some type of liquid nutrition after on a 3-4:1 ratio (CHO:Pro) usually in the form of juice/dextrose and whey with some salt thrown in there.
Rest of the diet is typical Paleo nutter stuff like no dairy, wheat, etc. So it is basically a sort of convoluted TKD diet. It is a fair-good read but nothing to run out for this instant.
So after seeing Cliner9er's comments (ndlr : celui qui précède), I had to read it myself. I'm just a nerd that way.
Not much to add to his comments but Cordain/Friel seem to be playing game of one extreme or the other. Their basic argumen is that, because endurance weenies tend to eat too many grains and carbs, tehy don't get sufficient protein/fiber (argubaly true). So therefore they should go to the other extreme and eat a Paleo diet all day except for carbs around training. Little to no carbs at main meals, all around training. Like cliner9er said, a convoluted TKD.
Talk a lot about acid/base, the importance of protein and BCAA for endurance weenies, etc.
But, err, can't you just eat plenty of grains AND eat plenty of protein and veggies?
Also, despite making an issue about the paleo-ness of it all, they somehow manage to work in stuff like caffeine and bicarbonate supplements. One of the Amazon reviewers pointed this out.
A massive inconsistency that jumped out at me. The authors criticize dairy intake because it is a primary source of fat (and saturated fat which they refer to as lethal; guess thy should argue with the 'sat fat is good for you' nutters) so you shouldn't eat it. But meat is ok, despite the fact that, in the modern diet, it's a primary source of fat. But since you can get leaner meats, that makes it ok. Guess their store don't have low/non-fat dairy products like mine does.
Basically, they kind of fight to rationalize some of their stuff.
Of course, perhaps they should read up on the Kenyan diet which is about 70% carbs and 10-15% protein before drawing many conclusions about how beneficial the paleo diet is for endurance athletes.

guess thy should argue with the 'sat fat is good for you' nutters
not essential for health if that's what you mean; if you never ate another bit of it, you wouldn't die
some data has tied sat fat intake to testosterone levels

De plus le mode de vie citadin est tres gourmand en vitamines et donc on en a plus besoin.
Les fruits qu'il mangeait étaient bien plus riches que les pommes golden et autre fruits selectionnés et cultivés d'aujourd'hui.
